THE MEANING - THE MEANing - THE MEaning (THE YOU)

    (E.M.)

Yet we sit back in pride, as if this is not you!
Rampant is the thought less pure than the soul of another one/
Money, freedom, privacy, liberation, success: "leave me alone!"
Rampant is the recoil of a soul less pure than the thought of another one/
Poverty, prison, crime, corruption, failure: "please help me!"

Yet we sit back in pride, as if this is not you!

Decade jumping leads to sentiments lost on the current youth/
Lost in limbo because your generation's actions are featherweight punches
and the world that pushes us over furniture like a sex-crazed date that
began as polite but has suddenly turned grotesque in nature too/

Yet we sit back in pride, as if this is not you!

The movement is putrid, their hands are everywhere you see
Draining money from your soul, from the soul
    and urging you for more/
Pimping you out is inevitable, just glance at Reality TV
They reserve the right to corner you on the street
    and making you their whore/

Yet we sit back in pride, as if this is not you!

We watch Talent come and go, and wonder what happened to the best of them/
We watch Talent emerge and grow, and gain momentum like snow,
We watch them peak, like my name, and think they will never be defeat/(-ed)
We watch Talent fade, souls that have been sold sooner or later fade/

Yet we sit back in pride, as if this is not you!

This is us! This is me! This is you!
    How uncomfortable...

To meander down a poem gleefully only to realize it's about you!
A mirror imploring you to free your soul. For christ sakes educate yourself/
it benefits your soul that you get your brain to a higher capacity than your wealth/

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
