    The Mind and Heart

Why is it that when you think you're over the past it comes back? Memories come back from the past to let you know they're still there. Isn't that the point? The past? Being what you left behind, tried to forget, moved on from? It's confusing...You want to believe it's just you being crazy, nostalgic perhaps. You try to assure yourself. You're fine. You're happy. You're content. You are arent you? yes....you are! But are you really? Is this happening for a reason? Is it a sign? A sign that is trying to tell you something? A memory/flashback can be evil sometimes. It's like your mind wants you to be in pain. Yearn for what you can't have...break your heart again and again. Your heart is a tricky part of you also. It goes for whatever it wants, needs,....maybe what it knows it should have. It cares when it should. Feels for kindness, love, generosity, attention. But it only burns once when it is supposed to be touched at the right time, the right person at that time in certainty. It's like everything stops. All your heart knows is that it is right. That's another thing. The heart isn't stupid...The person who has it that uses it wrong is. A person that lets their minds overpower the heart. People who think with their hearts might go through a lot of heartbreak but a least they stay true to themselves.

True to themselves yes indeed this was a great historical poem one that when the past comes back to haunt you, we could read over and over again, interesting concepts and views you really questioned the poets mind.

great thoughts on the mind and heart. but here's mine :D The mind's but a databank, and the heart's but a pump, for the soul is the guiding force, till the bodys life is done.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
