    • .. and optimistic as ever ...Live life, be kind and generous

    Poem Commentary

Instead of waiting to live tomorrow, just pretend today is tomorrow and start living, before time slips away and it too late. LIfe is so precious, transient and short and every day is a gift. It is OK to plan and have goals, but remember every day is part of your life and it will never come back. Don't wait too long. Tomorrow is here today!

    Today Is Tomorrow

               Today Is Tomorrow

Remember how you wished for tomorrow?

No worries, sadness, gloom or sorrow?

How you wished for it to get here now?

You knew, you would get there somehow.

    Remember all those plans, dreams?

    Remember all the silly schemes?

    Remember how far tomorrow seemed?

    Remember those nights you dreamed?

    You endured, you sacrificed,

    You did without, no doubt.

You dreamed about exactly how it would be.

A new world, joy untold, places to see,

    You, at your best,

    No time to rest.

    One Happy journey: your life.

    Wondrous moments to share,

    A loved one to care,

Friends and loved ones all around,

    House filled with children’s sound.

    A little comfort, a career,

    Exploring far and near.

    Children to raise and rear,

    Laughter, elation and tear,

Yes, you well knew, even then,

Even though you knew not when,

That loved ones would pass on,

And that you would have to go on.

Yes, there would be reason to be forlorn,

And then joyous when babies would be born.

You don’t have to wait no more,

    You are at tomorrow’s door.

It is no dream or contrived.

    Your lucky day has arrived.

    Today is indeed that tomorrow.

Live it like there in no tomorrow.
