    Unforgotten

How nice to hear a suttle voice
    Remembered from the past
    Forcing memories through your mind
As the years so quickly pass

Those precious times you hold so dear
    No one can take away
You share them with a chosen few
    And savor them each day

With whom and where you live your life
    You can always re-arrange
But the magic of a memory
    Is not subject to change

'Fore the ink on your diploma dries
You're growing up and breaking out
There isn't time to think about
Looking back ten years from now

You've made mistakes you hope won't last
    Too young to really tell
Not repeating is an avid sign
    You've learned your lessons well

To see again, the persons which
    Brought comfort years ago
Reflects on your good fortune when
Each sees how much they've grown

So if e'er life deals a lousy hand
Think back when times were good
Picture a few unjudging faces from
    Your hometown neighborhood.
