untitled

"How much is it?" They say.
"Five dollars" I say.
"Eight?!"
"Five....dollars...."

Oh…directionless demeaning monotonous job
So far beneath me catering to these idiot slobs
Outcasted by those who don’t respect me
Detest me
Fight just for my unalienable rights
Because I do, deserve, to be treated equally

Oh awful despiteful directionless life
Act like I can make you right
And I didn’t make those people die
But I didn’t make that house crumble
And I didn’t ask not to know how to get there
No, I don’t ask for this

Oh virtue-less pocked and punctured race
Idealists pace with their lack of ideas
Realists can’t even tell what’s real
And so many of the visionary geniuses of our time
Are driven far down below the revered places they belong
Turn to mind numb just to get along
To be able to escape rule of the idiots…
But
Nothing
Ever
Numbs
Long enough
And nothing is ever strong enough
And snipers we are--government haters law breakers we become longing for some revolution
To evolve
To revolve

Eyes rolling up to sky with every media centric idiotic move
Man made decision gave
Fists pounding on tables
Hands knocking on heads
And this we ask “WHY?”
No sense….
No sense….
No sense
No sense
No sense
No sense….
No sense

Those brave enough to be sober shout
Sedated by control in darkness try to crawl about
Try to escape from the prolls
Find some kind of realistic goal
To prepare to separate to change
To escape the same life
The light fight bite and crime…
Try to escape time

And those brave enough to stay sober, often say
They’d rather not live
Not one more day
And sometimes
Some of them don’t

I can’t say that I haven’t tried
Or that the thought still doesn’t often cross my mind
Or pass the utterance of my lips
Or bleed through my fingertips
Or cry through my dry worried eyes
Or resonate into space through the strokes of my guitar…
When it gets that far, it does, because we all deserve better than this
These breeds know and feel it
Only they can reveal it, what lacks here
But the idiots don’t care…
Just give them their money and beer.

Do I leave this off here?

There are words underneath that I cannot reach
I wanted to illustrate the longing hope and loss of
I wanted to expose the heavy breaths of desperation
The lifelong concentration camps in the minds That These Lives Are Sentenced to
When all the idiots would need to do
Is unlock the doors
Throw them open and say
And say
“BE FREE!”
“We won’t do this to you anymore,
No chains, no sentencing, no locked doors!
You are good, you are equal, you are above where we seat you
And teach us about life, the other side from which we hide
And let’s do this
Right”?

That’s such a far gone fairy tale I can’t even make it sound make believe coming through my lips
Cause it never was, is, will be
Not even hypothetically
This

No

Cause it’s just me…
And my brothers and sisters,
Separated in flight
Alone in the darkness at night,
Growing weaker,
And stronger,
Then snuffing out like lights.

Wow, so interested in t his poem. It is certainly powerful, and many of the analogies were so cogent and concise. It did get a bit "schizophrenic" at times as far as direction and ideas racing, but that could have been part of the poetic ploy? Sometimes a bit demeaning to humanity, but we have all been there, where it is impossible to make a connection, and bitter frustration is all we feel. Love your writing, hope to read much more!!

It was poetic play, this is one of my best for recital, it always leaves the crowd without leaving them ever again. Thanks.

Life sucks & then you die!! It's true; it always has been & probably always will be IF that's how we continue to visualize it to be. We don't seem to be able to fix it but we have the option to transcend it, & that in my humble opinion is where I feel we should be putting our energies.

Girl that was deep

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
