What If The Light Goes Out

As I walk the path of life,
This journey seems so long.
I can see the light,
It shines at the end of the tunnel.
But I grow tired, my feet hurt;
I am thirsty and I am hungry...
I can feel the heat from the burning sun
as it penetrates my soul.
I wonder, How far till I reach the light?

The further I walk,
The brighter it shines...
I feel nearer to my goal...
As it is getting late,
I wonder, if the light should go out
Would I be lost?
I have no candle, not even a flicker of light
To guide me home...
So would I be lost forever without this light?
Could I never make it home?
I wonder...
What if the light goes out...
