Why

Swaying my head from side to side discerning why it had to be

That the Lord should call my wife on home and take her away from me.

I saw unfold before me not in part but more in whole,

God’s fulfillment of his love for her as I understood His goal.

By seeking the Lord with all my heart not leaning on what I know,

But humbling out, to find some peace, so that my spirit may grow.

And as I opened up my eyes to see two hearts turn to God.

I looked up towards Heaven to give my God a nod.

Her parents looking in the Word to learn what matters most.

To be a son and daughter of Him, the Father and Heavenly Host.

In searching for contentment to fill this gaping hole

My wife laid down her life in exchange for her parents soul.

Your wife was a gift. To you, to her family, to her world, to her God. If we live for God, we mirror who Jesus is in who we are. Release her gently unto God, but hold your love close in your heart. MSV

Another beautifully written poem. Your thoughts flow so easily and honestly. I believe when a writer writes of the thing in thier own life, it makes the feelings show more clearly and you have done this so openly. She would be so proud of you.

It's okay to feel there was a higher purpose for her life by leaving it... It's just as okay to feel wronged for the loss of a loved one as well... Everyone has the right to take their loss in their own way and justify it however they see fit... No one is intimidated by cruelty... They can only forgive it's existence... A very heartfelt and tender write this was....

You have GOT to be kidding me with this crap! My 17 year old daughter died suddenly from severe complications of infectious mononucleosis shortly after she graduated high school. She was THE most wonderful young lady that any father could hope for. When I hear people say that God called her home because he needed another angel, I want to vomit. What kind of God takes a man's only child away before living a quarter of her life? If God IS in the heavens or wherever he lurks these days, why don't you ask him if youre SO sure he exists... take a reality pill, buddy...better yet, take two.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I cannot comment on your faith for you have none. All relationships are unique to the individual experiencing the loss. My hope is that you would complete your grief with out the pain. God bless you!!

Everyone is intitled to the way they express or believe, including you. But to belittle someone elses choice in thier manner of greif is cruel and selfish. I feel for you and your loss and I feel for his too. And if you choose not beleive in God, that is of course your choice. Many others do. I hope some day you will find peace in your life. Im' sure your daughter would want that for you.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
