    With Me

Sometimes distance is my worst enemy,
    It takes things away,
So fast its hard to believe,
Yet I hope for it to come back someday,

    If you could hear me,
    What would you say?
If you could see through the disguise I wear,
What would you do when the tears came as a delay?

Sometimes time isn't always on our side,
But you make due with what you have to hold on to,
Where heartache & pain leave a person only able to cry,
And it separates me from you,

    The world is cruel,
The people in it feed off lack of pride & fear,
We learn this all in school,
When your with me things are ok & I never shed a tear,

I wish you were with me right now,
To hold me & tell me everything's alright,
To keep me going before I give up & go down,
I'm on my own knowing you can't hold or kiss me better tonight.

Would've given it a 10 if line 4 stanza 4 said "you're" instead of "your" lol sorry I notice these things :(

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
