Wounded Healer

Poem Commentary

According to numerology, I am a number 9.  I have simply taken the definition of what a number nine is, and put it to poetry.  I don't believe in numerology, nor do I know much about it, but I found it to be interestingly accurate.

Wounded Healer

My wounded healer
in some way
feels responsible
for keeping up
the morality of mankind.
numerology, Number Nine.

Spirit Psyche
enlightens their very souls
by finding ways to tell them
that mankind is divine.
numerology, Number Nine.

Priestess goddess
writes, sings, paints;  modest.
Grain of sand, breathes perfumes,
social being, selfless whole,
dark night test of faith, of soul.

Wounded healer,
compassion road
does not lead to true rewards.
Eldritch, airy, female shrine,
numrology, Number Nine.

Curious air
of break-up, detachment.
Secret rebel Number Nine,
few can see to treasure you.
Mankind mostly makes you blue.
You continue to pursue.
Your truth,....
                      it tends to shine.

Very intresting! I don't know much about the numbers game myself. But that didn't stop you

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
