you don't know ME

you don't know ME

you look at me like i'm from another world
or as if i'm a monster
YOU DON'T KNOW ME
i might be that one who just isn't as smart as you
or even the one who tucks your kids in at night when you
work those long late hours
YOU DON'T KNOW ME
you look at me funny because i'm a little different
from you
YOU DON'T KNOW ME
Just because i may not look as good as you
and i'm not the same color as you don't judge me
YOU DON'T KNOW ME
i have feelngs too so try to know me first before
you judge me i might just be that one person
to save your life one day
YOU DON'T KNOW ME

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
