    Poem Commentary

This is what happens when I don't sleep

    Your Fate Now

    I Dare You To Look.
While Your Mind Screams Not To.
    Careful.
    Don't Move.
    Someone May Find You.

    A Black Pit Surrounds You.
Its Shadows Moving In All Around You.
    You Can Close Your Eyes.
    You Can Count To Three.
But You're Just Not Getting Rid Of Me.
    It's Not That Easy.

    Don't Look Down.
The Cold Decomposed Hand Will Grab You.
And Drag You. Like So Many Others.

    Hush Listen.
    You Can Hear The Collision.

    So Many People Lie Dead.

    Now Make A Decision.
There's No Way Out Of Your Head.
    What Is Your Fate Now?
If This Is The Hell That Awaits You.

    You Scream To Get Out.
    An Attempt To Cry Out.
    No One Can Save You.

    This Prison You Create.
    Your Conscience Is The Gate.
    Yes This Is Your Fate.
    For Tonight.

    Sleepless Souls Will Take Control.
    End It All.
    Your Eyes Shoot Open.
As You Turn Around He's There Staring You Down.

A Smile Falls On His Face As He Says
"Bet You Wish This Was Only Still A Dream. Yes.
But Nothing Is Ever As It Seems."

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
