    Your Presence

    Sometimes...

    I may not see you with my eyes,
    your pretty, smiling face;
    I watch you in my dreams.

    I may not feel you with my arms,
    your snug, loving embrace;
    I hug you in my heart.

    And sometimes...

    I may not hear you with my ears,
    your soft, sweet voice;
    I listen with my soul.

    I may not smell your pleasant aroma,
    your familiar scent of choice;
    I breathe-in your luminous aura.

    Still, sometimes...

    I may not sing out your harmonious name
    a musical sound, serene;
    I whisper to you in the breeze.

    I may not have you here with me,
    abiding in routine;
    I live with the sense of your presence.

    The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
