    A Christmas Poem

    Deck the Halls!
    Here's Santa Clause!
    Everywhere you go
    You see holly and mistletoe.
It's that time of year again.
    Folks rushing around
    To buy gifts for
    Family and friends.
Yet, something seems to be missing
    In all the Holiday cheer.
    Many have forgotten about
    The true reason
Behind this time of the year.
    The baby in the manger
    Lying among the hay
    The star shining above.
    The angels sent to say,
    “Peace on Earth!
    Great tidings to tell.
    The Savior has been born.
    As the years have past,
    We've forgotten Him,
    The only Gift that lasts.
    God sent His Son
    To pay the price
    For our salvation
To free us from Satan's vice.
Yet, we get all caught up
In the presents and the lights
    That we completely forget
    About that special night.
So as the others rush around
To do their last minute shopping
    Over by a manger scene
    Is where I'll be stopping.
    I'll remember that First Christmas
And what the season really means.
I'll take time to thank the Lord above
For sending His Son, the King of Kings.

So many of us forget that Jesus is the reason for the season. Our focus should mainly be on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who was born on Christmas Day. Instead, most of our attention is focused on other things, as you have so wonderfully stated in your poem. You expressed the situation quite well: GREAT JOB!!! God Bless! I invite you to read and rate some of my work! THANKS.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
