A little girl cries

A little girl cries

A little girl
cries -
a balloon
soars free
on the wind.
A woman
sighs -
a life wanting
to escape
into the everlasting sky.
I feel
grounded
shackled
and fading
fast.
The dream
the passion
the vision
is being
shattered
murdered
blinded.
Passivity
monotony
is ripping
me apart
You,
my love,
are breaking
my heart,
drowning
my essence,
diminishing
my existence.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
