    All Alone

White snow is falling in the mountains tonite
Thought I heard a wolf howl when the wind blows just right
The moon is almost full it's in your eyes so bright
You would swear we were alone in the world tonite

Firelight tosses shadows across the room in flight
I hold you close and touch your lips just to hear you sigh
Our house is cozy warm cold can't steal in past midnight
You could swear we were alone in the world tonite

Hush while time stands still in the mountains tonite
I'm glad we have nowhere to go it's so cold outside
Rest in my arms for now I'll kiss your eyes with the morning light
And make believe we're all alone in the world tonite

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)

    miller’s Poems (18)
