Almost Balanced

Almost Balanced

Both ends of my mind

lit.

Ceremoniously still

until awakened by alarms,

the other side could suddenly empty.

Locked in teetering,

a suspended dance,

always digging for control,

nothing but blue jeans and

cotton to help anchor -

the far edges of me

do not agree, do not resign,

so after all this,

reality might not win.

I have to call in a mediator, when both ends get going at the same time, and when all three want to argue. Reality steps outside,... good read it took three times for it to all sink in.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
