Poem Commentary

To Amber, my half German Shepherd and Wolf mix, who has since passed away.

Amber

Amber was a dog of mine
Who is now long gone
And when God took her from me
I thought maybe I'd done something wrong

Part Wolf and German Shepherd
And reddish tan in color
Always so loving and that's
What I loved the most about her

She had a different personality
Than all the rest
But even still that's why
I loved her best

I don't think I will
Ever find another dog like her
She was acquired quite by accident
And that is for sure

It's hard to let go
When you love them so much
And after they're gone
You especially miss their touch

awwww. i felt this same way after my boxer died. such a sad emotion. u can tell from the words that amber meant quite a grreat deal to you. enjoyed reading this.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
