    As I Walk With You

We walk contentedly hand in hand
on the hard baked concrete land
    a stroll down an avenue
no clouds lie in the sky overhead
on us the suns light is shed
    tinting the atmosphere blue
    as I walk with you

I wish that we could just freeze this time
    and just enjoy the sunshine
    revelling in each others glow
but we have places we need to be
    and now go off sep'rately
I need you more than you know
    why is it we go?

I dream of when we will be set free
a time to be you and me
It's for this I do so yearn
Though they just want us to separate,
i fear that it's far too late
oh, when will they ever learn,
    This is love we've earned.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
