banana

Smelling evergreen
and eating my past
I made it alright.
After a while
it was only line I drew
that mattered.

And I think...
it’s strange
but important
that the idea of your absence centers me

Because in a few years, I won’t remember your smell or your voice
Because I know it’s for the best
Because I think you were never mine to begin with
Because of all the things that we had
it’s what we didn’t have that made all the difference.
