Insomnia

I cant sleep
the silence bustling around me
nothing building up until its
thrashing, swarming, buzzing, screaming
My body so still I feel like
I'm sinking
Gotta get out
Far away from you
the air is so calm
not like before
When everything was electric
charged, full
Promises
Whats left of me feels so empty
meaningless
Am I just a shell now?
could I shatter
just like that
This will help
the breeze should be shocking
I'll sit and try not to think
I'll look without really seeing
I wish there was stars
and hills
and you
You'd whisper to me
In that voice that only I know
You would slow my mind
make it stretch out
long and slender
but strong
I won't even remember
falling asleep

beeisforbumble: Again, great flow and interesting how you move us to your point of the poem. Good job. Charles

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
