    Birth of One

    Stars always changing
    Always rearranging
    Fascination in my mind
    Starting to unwind
    The truth always untold
    Always ready to unfold
    Birth of one,
Trying to be different than some
    No battles ever faught
    Just lessons to be taught
    This world always updated
    Always jaded
    Memories all close to heart
    Somewhere we all part
    Birth of one,
Trying to find all that’s fun
    People always with different faces
    Always at different paces
    Planning never goes right
    Its all an unwinable fight
    Love always unfound
    Hearts crumble to the ground
    Birth of one,
Trying to assure everything can be done
Believe always in what you can
Always think to way back when
Never will you let today go
Because tomorrow might have nothing to show

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
