black

Black,
 darkness
 within my soul
 no feeling at all
 completely devoid of light
 absence of color
 the lowest point

I am black,
 not by skin color
 but by the emptiness
 within my soul
 devoid of all feeling
 nothingness

But,
 for every shade of black
there's always a touch of white
 which makes complete
 darkness impossible

He was my touch of white,
 but he left
 leaving only a hint
 of brightness
 in my life
