waiting, waited, gone

waiting, waited, gone

i waited for you for way too long
i waited for you to make up your mind
i waited for you to make a decision
i waited for you to grow up
i waited for you to own up to your mistakes
i waited for you to tell me the truth
i waited for you to come back to me
but you never did

so i got tired of waiting
when you saw me slipping away
thats when you tried to fight for me
but someone else had already won
my heart and affection
they did what you should have been doing all along

they fought for me
while you ignored me
the only time you noticed me
was when other guys took interest in me
you became jealous because
i was slipping from your grasp
you no longer had a hold on me

i got tired of waiting for you to come along
i moved on
with your best friend
