Burning Bridges

Burning Bridges
For fate has come, or has it
For all the love I give
I feel the fall I'm falling
A life I've yet to live
I cannot bear to lose you
But I cannot bear to see
I cannot let you be the less
Of anything you could be
But these are just the thoughts I have
Within my sodden mind
You are to me my everything
And all I have to find
Maybe fate has come at last
Or maybe fate is fake
Maybe fate are choices made
Choices that we take
So I think and make my mind
Turn into my voice
I know the bridge I'm about to burn
I know that it's my choi
For fate has come, or has it
For all the love I give
I feel the fall I'm falling
A life I've yet to live

I cannot bear to lose you
But I cannot bear to see
I cannot let you be the less
Of anything you could be

But these are just the thoughts I have
Within my sodden mind
You are to me my everything
And all I have to find

Maybe fate has come at last
Or maybe fate is fake
Maybe fate are choices made
Choices that we take

So I think and make my mind
Turn into my voice
I know the bridge I'm about to burn
I know that it's my choice

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
