We'll Meet Again

We'll Meet Again

We'll meet again

On shores we see with different eyes

With footprints in the sky

Upon the clouds and in the dirt

Of when we come to fly

Away from all the sodden views

Of laid to rest the mind

We'll meet again on different lands

You'll wait for me to find

We'll meet again

It cannot just become an end

It cannot just be done

For when we fly so soon as this

You're life had just begun

For what it means is all of this

Is something that we live

For what it's worth in just a time

My life is what I'd give

We'll meet again

Upon the banks of clouds and stars

What happens when we die

To venture just to see what's there

What is life's biggest lie

To go beyond the truth we hold

And see the sodden drought

To see a final breath behold

And blow the candle out

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
