I wish that life chose me

Poem Commentary

Survivors guilt; just because I know what it is, doesn’t stop me feeling it.

I wish that life chose me

I wish life chose me

And on the wistful bank of those

The memories that will pain

To see the sea of those we lost

I’ll see my friend again

A memory that will bring the tear

Of thinking of the end

Of crushing guilt of how I live

Of how I lost a friend

And I miss you with all my heart

And I wish life chose me

And of the two of us I knew

That you had more to see
