With What to See the World

Poem Commentary

With what to see the world, we need the presence of both light and dark to see perfectly.

With What to See the World

I see the world in black and white
With nothing in between
With all the things that pass me by
The things I haven't seen

It crossed my mind as like a sea
When darkness in me grew
With all the lies I told myself
Not knowing what was true

The light inside did grow beside
Blinding all my mind
I looked for good inside myself
Not knowing what I'll find

The truth is that I just don't know
With what I need to look
The sequential feelings in my heart
The truth that people took

It seems to me that we need them both
The dark as well as light
The ridiculous notion that in this world
There's nothing left to fight

The dark does blind from darkness
The light does blind from light
Wishing the world another sun
Not taking to the night

So see the truth for what it is
Inside ourselves we know
The light and dark confront us all
Don't let the evil grow

I love this! Especially as a continuation of your poem 'Light and Dark'.

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
