    Poem Commentary

    Chemistry

    every molecule

    longing for the next ingredient

from milk to cola, chocolate to spice

    practicing impatience

on the highway of one moment to the next

    bridges of achievement

    turnpikes of redemption

    euphoric resting places

    running out of time

herbs, vitamins and food washed down with

    caffiene, music, adrenaline & art

    succumbing to

    genetic predisposition

    decaying mortal container

    dissolves into particles

leaving only a residue of chemistry

yeah ... my "Part III Red Road" piece is like that ... every time i try to edit/tighten the original, i screw it up, lol ... it is a relief when a piece feels "done"! -dh

A very interesting verse. I love the metaphors - I enjoy poetry that makes me stop to think. Nice work!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
