    Convalescent Thoughts

    Looking at what we had
I see you were so bad.
Seeing you now would break my heart
because I see how we fell apart.
    What could have been
    became our sin.
    As we fell so quick
    yet never could stick.
I look now thinking of you
and realizing you are so blue.
Now we talk and say I love you.
But are these words really true?

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
