    Daddies Little Army Girl

    Ive given my parents hugs and now this is goodbye
    i beg my mom to be strong i begged her not to cry.
    i told her that i loved her and that i always will
    because no matter where i go my heart remains here still.

    my dad was waiting in the car to take me to the airport,
    we sat in the car quietly he said nothing of the sort.
    was going to be a long drive but he just sat there staren straight ahead
    i was afraid to part my lip for what might come out he might dread.

    so all i did was smile while i took his hand in mine
    i whispered to him softly "daddy i'll be fine".
    he huffed and he squeezed my hand real tight
    he told me he  knows that i'll be alright

    we made to the airport and i got out the car;
    i looked up in the sky and whished upon a star.
    my dad was strong and did say a word to me;
    i think he was hiding tears but i could plainly see.

    as i began to walk away heard footsteps behind
    there was my daddy his face so warm and kind.
    he flung his arms around just to let me know;
    that he would hold me if he could and never let me go.

    i cried a little in his arms as a little girl,
    he lifted up my face and told me i was his world.
    goodbye my little army girl is what he said to me
    i said no i am daddies girl and thats who i'll always be
