    The Simple Things

I never asked you for the world at all,
all i asked is that you'd hear my call.
i never asked for wings to help me fly,
i only asked you to hold me when i cry.
You see the simple things you could never do,
Never believing that all i needed was you.

I never needed your strength to help me walk,
what gave me power was just to hear you talk.
i never wanted diamonds and pearls,
all i wanted was to be your girl.

i never really needed a voice,
as long as i had the love of my choice
See the simple things you could never do,
when all of this world meant nothing if i didn't have you.

    thank you very much

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
