    DAYS GONE BYE

    DAYS GONE BYE

What happened to the good old days?

The days of kings and subjects

The days of masquerades and talking drums

The days of virgins and princes

The days of dancers and warriors

Bring back the good old days

Those days we use to sit around the fire place and listen to tales by the moonlight

Those days we use to eat roasted yam with palm oil

Those days we chased rabbits and cooked bush meat

Those days we bath in the stream without a care for the world

    Oh the good old days

When we use to plait each other’s hair for the Sallah festivals

When a woman’s beauty is measured by the sway of her hips

When there were market days and yam festivals

Where have the good old days gone?

    With love
