Dream

I had a sweet dream of our embrace....

Our kisses were relentless as we danced elegantly and swiftly on the magnificent maroon marble of an enormous open hall.

Our joy expanded our senses, while the world around us slowly faded.

We were no longer in control of our steps, but still we moved in perfect harmony through the love we felt.

No thoughts could enter into this space, for our individual identities blended into one.

No words were spoken, for all was understood.

The anticipation of each other’s touch was ecstasy in itself.

Suddenly we find ourselves in an open, beautifully trimmed garden;

As cascading water filled the air with peace, while our bare feet touched the freshly-cut grass.

We were immersed in the intoxicating atmosphere of our own paradise.

There was no fear, anxiety, or pointless worry, for we realized the essence of what we shared at that moment;

The truth of our nature, our intended destiny and the ultimate purpose of our brief time as this form was revealed in a dream…

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
