Ocean

Ocean

I see life as an expansive and infinite ocean,
And although the surface appears tumultuous, underneath the
surface hides a world of unimaginable tranquility and beauty.

A faint voice whispers, Caution! Caution!
But deep down, there is a sense of knowing that encourages peace

As I swim along side magnificent creatures,
Their elegance and eloquence sooth my deepest fears

Suddenly, being in their presence I become a child again
And an amazing feeling of joy and gratitude overwhelms all my thoughts

In this dream-like state, the voice of condition is a persistent reminder
But I conceive that what I hear is not my true voice

And in the profound waters, I am free and alive
The constant rhythm of the sea, coming and going, gently rocks me
My body is fluid as the water and I become one with it

In the vastness, I am content although alone
From the silent breeze, comes my encounter with another
As if he has always awaited my solitude, my emergence in this new world

Nothing else exists but the awareness of each other
And nothing can destroy our instant alliance

Now, we swim side-by-side allowing the waves to move us on their own accord
Without struggle or resistance, we feel our union although we stand apart

Our senses overwhelmed by the sweetness of the air, the warmth of our passion

We navigate without a compass toward the horizon, floating on an ocean of endless love

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
