Human Condition

Human Condition

Words written, spoken, left behind

Nothing to tell, but what cannot be said.

Acceptance, Solitude inspire love,

          While Resistance, Loneliness—Attachment

Mathematical Fractals reveal the synchronicity of all things

          To our limited vision, Chaos

Those who preach others’ truths– revered

Those who teach others universal truths – ostracized

There are those who choose the margins to write their stories

Ever-present Beings who perceive their source, recognize true Power

Mechanical lives,

Identified with numbers,

Codes,

Digits

Nature lost,

Replaced by glaring screens

                    Its marvels no longer honored,

But reduced to greed for paper, plastic, fuel

Our steps – hurried along

          Our heads – directed downward

Our senses – unavailable with electrical distractions

Blind-folded we walk through the precious gift of Now,

Our only reality, our only Savior

Demands for perfection, without discernment for the imperfect

          Frightened by fear,

 Rigid with anxiety,

Burdened by worry

Sinking lower and lower,

Until hopelessness is all that is left

The sane duality conflicts with our insane philosophies

Gods are created,

Prophets annihilated

All for the sake of the very same, idealistic cause

Unconscious,

We parade,

We march on,

We remain

Our ambitions futile,

To possess we strive

Our Being ceases to cross the threshold,

For we are imprisoned by our self-indulgence,

          Our incessant need to escape

Then, as our feet tire, we stop.

We face what we can no longer deny

Only then do we arrive. Peace, joy, love.

Our surrender proves to be our only way out of the darkness

Nightmares dissolve into the oblivion of our silent minds

No book, or Guru, or Master to follow blindly

We arrive at the gates of Heaven empty handed

Our sorrows lifted,

Our souls as the true guardians who now reign sublime

And we rejoice,

For the duality of darkness and light is our destiny,

Our human condition

Yes indeed. It is as if the universal perception of life has been lost, so each eye turns from being guided to being instictive. In our wearying war of consuming, we find rest in contentment. Perhaps some things just never get sated. One must simply leave it behind. A well worded piece that is structured just right to fit the feel of the poem.

Poem kinda long, but good-I like the fact that you say it is the human condition-all of it.

thank you...sometimes our human condition takes a lot of words....

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
