    Eternal Servitude

I am used as an animal.
    But I am human.
I do what im told like a dog.
    But I am human.
    I am called a roach.
    But I am human.
I am burdened with endless work
    Like a horse.
    Am I even human now?
I am fed scraps and forced to do
    What cannot be done easily.
Is it this person who makes me a slave.
Or is it my fear the enslaves me in the end.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
