    FORGIVENESS

We all have these little besetting sins, whether it be our thoughts, our tongue, or well....(you name your sin whether big or small) that we just can’t seem to stop doing and are always asking for forgiveness again and again and wonder why we can’t seem to quit doing them. If this sounds like you, then this poem is for you.

    Nov. 15, 2009

     Father, I don’t understand
Why am I here yet again?
I keep doing the same thing
    That causes me shame.
    Lord, please forgive me again.

     I know many times before,
As I knelt on that cold floor,
    Your forgiveness was given
    My life worth the liven,
Lord, help me to sin no more.

Lord, I know you forgave me,
And yet you should forsake me.
I just can’t forgive my sin,
    It’s hiding deep within
Why does this sin still plague me?

"My child, you can not be free,
"till you leave your sin with me.
    Yourself you have to forgive
    Or your sin, you relive.
    Forgive yourself and be free."

     I forgave myself anew.
For this, Father, I thank you.
    Forgiveness now I’m giving
    Old sins not reliving
Free to live my life anew.

Another good write about a subject worth writing about. I have a poem half written about the same subject. I call it may favorite sins. It does seem like we have our favorite sins that we cannot give up. Good work.

Thank you coacher. Let me know when you finish your poem. I would love to read it. To be our favorite sins, they sure cause torment when we realize that we failed again. Right?

This is a good poem. Many times we refuse to believe that God will forgive us because we think our sin is so great. And it is...but God is greater than our sin. Good Job Sheila.

Oh yes, icu2, we would be most wretched if God were not greater than our sin and His grace is sufficient. Thank you for reading my poem

Reminds me of a scripture in Romans 7:15-25....the apostale Paul talks about how he tries with his own will to do the opposite of his desire and it always fails of course because we cant do anything do anything without God....this poem is beautiful and deep in its meaning and i absolutely love the character and soul u put into this....its beautiful especially when u mention the grace of the Lord after we fail the test of our faithi in Him, so thank u for sharing!

Thank you so very much blueberripie, It is so good to have some one understand the principal. So many are trying to attain in their own strength. Just can't be done.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
