    THIS NEW YEAR; THIS NEW DECADE

    95.

    1-1-2010

    I opened my eyes this morning, to two thousand and ten.
    It’s a bright sun shiney day, fooling the minds of men.
    One would think; winter is gone;
    From the promise, of the sun.

    Not a cloud in sight, to bring on doom.
    Yet snow predicted, for week-end gloom.
    It shows such promise; this day of sun shine.
    I choose to think; it a hopeful sign.

    This new year; this new decade;
    Bringing hope which God hath made.
    Last year, a year of many changes;
    Our new life, it rearranges.

    What does this new year have to bring?
    While waiting to see; this day I’ll sing..
    To know the future, is not our right;
    So I’ll enjoy this day so bright.

    Another winner. It is good advice to enjoy the day and let the future to take care of it self. You must have been a great teacher. It shows. Coach

    Actually, the only kind of teacher that I have been is a Sunday School teacher, piano teacher, and a minister's wife. (I sat in some counseling sessions with hubby) But thank you so much for your comment Coacher.

    Sheila, this is a lovely poem. If we have hope in this world only we are of all men most miserable. So I know YOU are smiling, my dear friend. God is good!

    Thank you so much for your comment, icu2. It sure makes me feel happy when someone can agree that God is good.

    A delightful write, S. Yes, you got God in there, but it wasn't the theme. You expressed wonder and hope.

    Glad I can finally write one that you approve of. I think you will find that most of my poems have God in there, except for my humorous ones. Well, they might include Him in there also. You see, God is my life.

    How sweet, Lena. Yours are the same. I also wish for you and yours a BLESSED NEW YEAR!

    Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
