Genesis ( A Poetic Story)

Once, before time, in the realm of nothingness
Deep into the void, Thought became aware of itself
And in its efforts to be made manifest
Did other Thoughts merge into its awareness
Each aware that their awareness
Was dependent upon Thought to be
And, as Thought projected its visions into reality
It was possible, due to Thought's objectivity
To project them in duality
Male and female did he project all of creation
A polarity, in order that they may reach
Back into infinity
Six days, from the setting of Sun to Sun
Thought created all things each and every one
And, after doing so, set them into a perpetual cycle
In order that all his creations would forever be
That was the way Thought intended it to be
But, on the eve of the sixth day
Before Thought thought himself to be
Lucifer, the deceiver, approached his majesty.
There, before the host of lesser Thoughts
Did he challenge the One Thought in his right to be
Saying, to the Host of Awareness
"If one has to be, then why not me?"
So, the One Thought conceded to Lucifer
Saying, "I will manifest, as One, in the Earth
And, thereafter, be subject to thee
To prove that my being will manifest only me
For, in my perfection, as The One, will I manifest me
Into the the Earth, I make subject to thee
The source of life, do I will you be
No matter what form
On or in the Earth, the air or the seas
For in my will. do I will you be
Prince of Air, Lord of the Atmosphere
In and about the Earth
Where I shall become
That thou may do battle with The One
"Ha!" taunted Lucifer, there before the Throne of Light
"How can Darkness win in Light?
In order that I may win over your might
It is here in the void, where we must fight."
"Hear this Lucifer," The One willed him perceive
"As The One will I be subject to thee
For I will not know that I AM until I have risen
By the trails that you place upon me
For, in my perfection, as The One
I place my right to be
And, if thou be victor
Will my being be subject to thee."
Thus the gauntlet was thrown
Down into the Earth
Did Thought cause himself to be
Subject to Air
The life of all flesh
In order to be
And, from his first breath of spirit
That force which moves Air
Did the one become
Being subject to Air
And, as Thought marvelled at the creations
He had willed to be
He thought himself blessed with eyes to see
Unaware that the giver was he
He thought upon a lesser God to be
A female part he created
From the inner parts of the God he had willed himself to be
To Lord as his co-creator
And to project his being into his posterity
Adam (Man of Earth) thought he
For into the Earth was Thought made to be
Thus, did the 6000 year cycle begin
Known by the learned as the fall of a God into man
"Cursed by the Deceiver through the lesser part of me
Was I made aware of the creative power made manifest in me
From the well of the womb of Eve
Came forth the Deceiver - the diverse seed
Within the hosts of the creation I made for me
Did the "Son of Perdition" vanquish me.
Thus began the war in heaven
Darkness versus Light
In an endless procession my Suns did plunge
Bearing the passions I bore as The One
Through daughters of men, thus giants were born
Endowed with the spirit and the might of a Sun
"Though I dreaded the coming of a physical you
I bid you born, because I love you too
For without the perfection of you
I couldn't have been, even if I'd wanted to
For in your power is the life of my flesh
Still, I reign supreme in the winds
That force of spirit called breath
For whether it goes forth or is taken in
Breath moves by spirit in the power of wind

EXCELLENT WORK The ryhmn and meter are terrific. This works paints a good picture in the readers mind. And the last line of the poem reminds me of what Jesus said on Mount of Olives - "The spirit is like the wind whither it goes or whence it comes you know not" Thanks for the wonderful read. obviously a 10

holy cats, this is an ambitious work ... a modern re-telling of genesis ... taken thru to the resurrection ... old and new testament in one sitting ... AND taking on the sticky wicket of good and evil ... nicely done, Poet, i hear your words ... thx for posting!

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
