    Happiness is Only an Apparition

    Here I sit
    Pondering my existence
In this world of untruth and slain.
Is there a God in what is known as Heaven
    Or only Hell?
    Why is there war
    Only made of hatred
    Without love and joy?
    Is there life after death?
    Only those of pure honesty
    Know this great truth.
    I've searched far and wide
    For this distinct knowledge,
But am only lead into banishTd dead ends.
Will I be burned at the crucifix
Or die gently in my very bed?
    Only one knows this answer
And I shall live forever until I find this forbidden truth.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
