Hope

Six angry soldiers marched across this earth,
there names were Hope, Love, Peace, Justice, Pride and Perseverance.
They were destined to be together since their birth.
They were tired of the wars, hunger and sorrow,
and decided to address these problems to make a better tomorrow.
They were each sent to places where they were needed,
and knew within their hearts that they couldn't be defeated.
Hope went to places where there was despair,
and to uplift their spirits he showed them that someone cared.
Love went to places where there was hatred, hostility and bitterness,
and fought hard, and finally led his people out of the wilderness.
Out of the six I believe Peace had the hardest job,
so he took Justice and Perseverance to deal with the angry mobs.
They went to places with war turmoil and chaos,
and this was like venturing into the land of the lost,
but they knew they had to win no matter what the cost.
The battle seemed to be going nowhere, and they were about to surrender
They felt like hypocrites because they were endulging in the very thing they went there to hinder,
but in the distance they see an abundance of people headed their way,and in the front were Love and Pride come to save the day.
This made them think of the one person missing from this band,
and they all wished he was there to give them a helping hand.
they all had faith and knew he would be there,
they went on with the battle for all it was worth,
and to their astonishment they won and all felt great pride because
peace was on earth.
When Hope finally arrived they asked:
"Why weren't you here to help us achieve our goal?"
Hope looked at them all and said:
"I never left you, I've always been with you in your hearts,
minds and souls.

Wow that poem is classic. It is truly visual and almost biblical straight from a pure heart of a poet

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
