    Strange Day

Yesterday I seen something beyond comprehension.
You may not think it strange, but I thought I'd just mention
these two guys eating lunch that caught my attention.
Now these were two ordinary guys having a conversation,
but it was what they were saying that caused speculation.
They spoke foreign words none that I've heard,
and I thought it absurd I understand every word.
One guy spoke on his job and said "he needed help."
The other guy said it didn't matter cause he did'nt have much time left.
They spoke of heaven and hell and why he first fell,
how it seemed like this guy had sent him to hell.
He said there were souls in this place where he dwelled,
and to bring them to heaven he thought he might fail.
Now I'm thinking to myself, nah it couldn't be,
the Heavenly Father and Satan siting before me,
So I got up to leave without looking their way, and thought to myself
    "what a strange day."

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
