    NightMare

A scream breaks and consumes all the silence in the room, as you sit upright gasping for air and your hearts filled with doom.

You try to focus searching for the demons who haunt you, but it's dark and you're afraid to move and besides you don't want to.

Your pulse is racing, and you're disoriented as your eyes focus on your surroundings, and your nerves are shot as you calm yourself and stop your heart from pounding.

You just seen your whole life go flashing right before your eyes, and no matter how hard you tried to scream no one could hear your cries.

Trapped in the valley of your subconscious mind, consumed by your thoughts and caught up in a bind.

Running from the beast who takes refuge in the dream state, and driven by the will to live as this phantom plots your fate.

It's all a dream but it's real to you as you look for your escape, escape was found when you released the scream that left you upright and awake.

i like it. great story telling and something i can directly relate to.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
