I am never Lonely

I am never lonely/ Even when I am alone/ I prefer my own company/ To others I have known/ I am often Quiet/ I don’t need you to intrude/ I am quite completely content/ With constant solitude/ Please don’t try and save me/ I assure you I’m just fine/ I can entertain myself/ I watch the passing time/ Don’t come and visit me/ Or call me on the phone/ Because I am never lonely/ Even when I am alone.

How they don't understand that lonely doesn't mean alone. People make themselves neeed when they aren't. A simple and efficient poem that proves its point in a quiet, calm manner.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
