Prison of Fear

In a cage of my own making/creating every bar/the architect of my prison/ within I hide from harm/with bars between you and I/ never having to interact/ lines drawn for personal space/ the picture of politic tact/ do I want to stay here? / do I wish to escape/ you will never know the truth/ the reason why I stay/ leaving I become vulnerable/ feel the pain of sweet love/ I stay here safe and alone/ believe me it’s enough/ you can visit myself imposed cell/ share a spare minute of mine/ better chains of fear I lay on myself/ then bound by your love for all time.

raw with emotion you have captivated the true meaning/ feeling behind being hurt. bravo well done :)

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.
