    I gave you

    I gave you my heart
    In exchange
You could be its care taker
    Yet latley
    I feel
You have not only dropped my heart
    But thrown it down
    I gave you a child
    In exchange
You could be a wonderful father
    Yet latley
    I feel
    You have forgotten him
    I gave you my life
    In exchange
    You would care
    Yet lately
    I feel
    You have thrown it away
    But that is ok
    My heart
    Pick it up
    Dust it off
    Our son
Hold him today with a fathers love
    My life
Dig it out of the trash
If you will give it back
All as good as a new beginning

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
