In the Dark I will wait for you

In the Dark I will wait for you

In the dark I will wait,
You wont see me till its too late.

The shadows are my friend,
hiding my aproch around the bend.

Behind the Oak, behind the brush,
you cant see me, you cant touch.

I know you sense me near,
like a drug, i smell your fear

It calls me, your beating heart,
I can almost see your blood in the dark.

Your breath stutters as you look around,
only darkness is what you have found.

I rush in and bite your vain,
draining you of your life and pain.

Vampire, huh?... great description and imagery, cold and calculated as it should be for the subject matter. Enjoyed reading this one.

Nice and eerie.... Just my style... How did you know?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
