    Left Behind

Silence feels the air since we no longer speak,
I sit and think every day, week after week.
How could two people who were so close seem like strangers?
Thats just life, it brings changes, surprises, and dangers.
If nothing were ever said or overstated,
Maybe we wouldnt seem so overrated.
Our so called friendship meant the world to me,
friends for life, partners in crime, we always said we'd be.
I'm sorry I couldnt live up to your expectations,
But you were just too busy with your other relations.
Memories are all that is left for our minds....
Now we're both lonely again, LEFT BEHIND.

I like your rendition of the story of the security and beauty of familiarity, turning into apathy and inevitably, loss... Well said..

This is a strong poem expressing the act of having to live up to someone else's expectatons. Overall the is a great piece of writing.

I this is a good poem and could be used as lyrics in a song about your life experiences and I think would be a nice easy listening tune, with the right music and production could be very very nice! grecowong@yahoo.com

thank you! you really think so?

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
