    There are many times
    Where a life will change
    Suddenly altering its course
    Making us rearrange.
    So that happened
    On this terrible day
    When a beloved sister
    Was taken away.
    An act so terrible
That not many of us can relate
    To its unspeakable horror
    Its numbing fate.
    And now my babe
    I’m here to say
    I will never, ever forget
    The meaning of this day.
    Your life did change
In ways I can never feel
    Yet the sadness within you
    To me makes it real.
    I want you to know
    while I’ll never fully understand
    I’ll always be there
When you need me to take your hand.
I know that for your family
    This day must be shared
    To reflect on Linda’s life
    And how much you cared.
    Today it’s ok to pause
    And shed some tears.
    Her memory will stay
For the rest of your years.
    Every tear you do cry
Is a call from your heart
    Telling Linda you miss her
As you have from the start.
    Today I want you to
Close your eyes for a while
    Think of the good things
    That make you smile.
    For those too will
    Be memories to share
    With others who know,
    Others who care.
    All of the tears
    And the smiles that survive
Help you to carry on and
    Keep Linda alive.

Wow. This reminds me of when my Mema died. Great work.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
