looking through the frames of life

looking through the frames of life

~
woken by the sweet scents of roses;
my nostrils waltz with utter delight,
the sun gazing down on my humbled face.
waving hello,
the sun,
 bakes the sky crisp.

stepping out onto the pavement,
bare footed,
i walk.
burning my toes,
i feel so alive,

as my body drifts on,
i stop to stare at my reflection,
looking through myself,
into the past.
seeing such love and happiness,
fly by my window.

looking deep into my face,
into my eyes,
the swirls of honey,
and brown skirt my mind.

like a painting,
i stare,
stuck in a frame for all to see.
for all to admire,
for i am not a gallery,
nor a statue to applaud at.

alone,
in my cave,
watching the moon glisten with elegance.
wishing for the rose's sweet aroma to light my morns.

watching all the sinful souls  banish the streets,
for night,
unleashes all vicious and vile treats.

the darkness shadows such vulnerable souls,
as i stay trapped in the frames of my window.
witnessing all dark deeds that cover such innocence.
that walk unloved and unprotected,
for all eternity.

Very creative and a meaningful story, for all have taken the time to ponder in their mirror, "Are they, or am I, the reflection? And if that is the case, which side is better suited?"

Poetry comes nearer to vital truth than history.

Plato (BC 427-BC 347) Greek philosopher.
